Safety: ANSUL Fire Suppression System

A kitchen fire can cause very serious damage, not only to equipment and spaces, but also in terms of temporary closure and reputational damage. To avoid these risks, it is essential to have a safe and reliable fire suppression system, such as the ANSUL automatic system, designed specifically for professional kitchens.


The ANSUL system must be designed and installed exclusively by authorised distributors, trained directly by the manufacturer. airchè is the only certifier in Italy for the ANSUL R-102 and ANSUL PIRANHA systems, guaranteeing complete and certified protection according to UNI EN 16282-7 and UNI EN 17446, which safeguard kitchen managers in the event of accidents.

ANSUL R102 system:
how it works

The fire is detected by the sensors positioned inside the ducts and the hood.

The sensors activate the ANSUL AUTOMAN release mechanism which pressurises the extinguisher cylinder and locks the energy sources to the equipment.

The low PH ANSULEX liquid extinguishing agent is fed into the tubes and is dispensed into the plenum, pipes and cooking equipment.

ANSULEX, sprayed directly on the flames, extinguishes the fire in a few seconds, suffocating the hot gases and forming a layer of foam that minimises the risk of re-ignition.

The sensors operate the release mechanism, pressurising the extinguisher cylinder and blocking the energy sources.

The PRX extinguishing agent is placed in the pipes and delivered to the plenum, the ducts and the kitchen.

In the same nozzles, a water flow is then released that allows a smaller amount of extinguishing agent to be used and reduces the risk of re-ignition.
